Questions, answered specifically
No recruiter-speak.
01Is the AI fair to me?+
We score against the rubric the manager set when they posted the role. We don't look at your name, photo, or schools when scoring the screen, only what you actually said.
02Do humans see my conversation?+
Yes. The hiring manager sees your transcript, your scores, and a one-paragraph note. The AI is the screen; the human makes the decision.
03Can I redo it if I had a bad day?+
You can flag the round before it ends. We'll re-run any section you think we got wrong. After it ends, you can re-apply to the same role once.
04What if English isn't my first language?+
You can do the round in any of 14 languages. The scoring is on what you say, not how you say it.
05Where does my data go?+
It stays with you, in your profile. You choose which employers see it. You can delete it any time, and we delete the underlying transcripts.
06Am I talking to an AI?+
Yes. The screen, the assessment scoring, and the first-round interview are all conducted by an AI. The final hire decision is always made by a named human hiring manager. You see who decided.
07Can I ask for a human instead?+
Yes. Any stage, any time. One click. No penalty. Same questions, same rubric, scheduled at your convenience. A Picked-trained reviewer takes the case.
08What languages do you support?+
The screen and interview run in 25-plus languages. We name them on the application page. If we are not competent in your preferred language, we say so and offer English with extra time.
09Is the assessment timed?+
The cognitive batteries have item-level time limits, calibrated for fairness. Other modules (writing samples, role-play, case studies) have generous overall windows. Extra time is available on request, no flag against you.
10What if I do not get the job?+
You get a decision in writing within 48 hours of the role posting. The note includes where you scored, what would strengthen a future application, and which adjacent roles in our system might fit you better. Opt-out at any time.
11Can I re-use my Picked profile for other roles?+
Yes. If you apply to another Picked role within a sensible window (usually 12 months), you do not retake the assessment. Your file follows you.
12Can I delete everything?+
Yes. One form at /legal/data-rights-request. 30-day default retention; we honour earlier deletion on request. Backups purge within 90 days.
13Do you use my data to train AI models?+
No. Anthropic and OpenAI both operate under zero-retention agreements for our traffic. The candidate-owned profile is the only persistent record, and you control it.
14How do I know my interview was scored fairly?+
Every score has a written reason. You can see the reason. We monitor for adverse impact per role, per stage, per protected group. Annual independent bias audits, published in full at /trust/fairness.
15Where is my data stored?+
In London. UK is currently an EU adequacy country, so EU candidates' data is legal under GDPR. See /trust/privacy for the full posture.
16Will my employer find out I applied?+
No. We do not contact your current employer. We do not show your application to anyone except the company hiring for the role you applied to. We never sell or share candidate data.
17I have a complaint. Who do I talk to?+
Email trust@picked.ai. We triage within one business day. Working complaints procedure, clear timescales. No black-hole contact forms.
